Chestnut Hill Hospital's Family Practice Residency program has graduated more than 200 residents since its inception in 1974. Many of the program's alumni are now practicing medicine in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, while other graduates practice throughout the country in such places as California, Florida, Hawaii and even Bermuda. All graduating residents have passed the certification boards on the first attempt.

The Hospital has formed physician networks to help facilitate our move toward an integrated health care system focusing on primary care and covered lives. There is ample opportunity for graduates to stay and practice in the community.

Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice? On my interview day, I fell in love with the warm and welcoming disposition that I felt from each person I encountered. What really drew me here was the relationships the residents have amongst themselves, the attendings, and other staff of the practice and hospital. The positive attitudes, passion for education and dedication to patient care are just some of the many reasons Chestnut Hill Hospital was the place for me.

Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice? A major draw for me was the Faculty here – they’re not only excellent doctors, but also outstanding teachers. This program has been around almost as long as Family Medicine has, and the experience that comes along with instructing so many Residents is an incredibly valuable opportunity to learn from. Also there’s such a diverse mix of patients coming into the hospital (and clinic!) from all around Philly that you never know what you’re going to learn that day.

Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice? I'm passionate and committed to underserved populations and CHFP's community setting provides an opportunity to care for and learn from these patients as well as advocate for their needs. Also, the program size fosters individual attention from faculty and peer support from my cohor and seniors. Lastly, I'm excited about living and working in historic Philadelphia.

Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice? I’ve been living in/around Philadelphia for almost a decade and it really has become home! I wanted a program close to “home” that allowed for diverse learning opportunities. Chestnut Hill definitely provides that as we get to work with people from/at multiple hospital systems including CHOP and Einstein. Most importantly, the people are what drew me to Chestnut Hill. My interview day here was honestly the most memorable one I attended (for good reasons). Everyone here is so eager to teach and lend a helping hand when you need it. I got the “family” I was looking for!
Where can we find you when your pager is turned off? With my husband traveling from one baseball stadium to the next, or, on a plane exploring the rest of the world! Otherwise, you’ll likely find me comfortably at home watching sports (Go Yankees/Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, Penn State!) or binge-watching Netflix with my two kitties. I am in a lifelong pursuit to meet the Phanatic and Gritty.
