August 30, 2023 - Reading Hospital Road Run is set for October 15, 2023, hosted by The Friends of Reading Hospital. Two races are available: a half marathon and a 5K. The deadline for registration is October 10.

August 28, 2023 - In recognition of the quality of patient care provided at Reading Hospital, Phoenixville Hospital, and Pottstown Hospital, two national awards were presented to each.

August 24, 2023 – Reading Hospital Magnet Champions partnered with United Way of Berks County to support the Reading School District through the 2023 Stuff the Bus campaign.

August 18, 2023 - St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Drexel University, and Peirce College are working together to collaborate on academic programs that support career transition. Expanding access for adult learners interested in advancing their education also develops a more diverse pipeline of talent for regional employers. 

August 17, 2023 - The popular Reading Hospital Bike Share Program is returning thanks to funding provided by The Friends of Reading Hospital, following a temporary pause during the COVID-19 pandemic.

August 9, 2023 - The third entering class of Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health’s MD program will follow in the footsteps of their classmates on Thursday, August 10. As part of their orientation, they will paint a mural that, when complete, will be displayed at the corner of North 11th and Richmond Streets in Reading.

July 18, 2023 - Reading Hospital proudly announced today that president and CEO, Charles F. Barbera, MD, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review 2023 list of “Physician Leaders to Know” for his dedication to improving and optimizing healthcare in our community.

July 10, 2023 - Tower Health announced today that Phoenixville Hospital, Pottstown Hospital, and Reading Hospital have received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - Heart Failure Gold Plus with Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll quality achievement award for their commitment to improving outcomes for patients with heart failure, meaning reduced readmissions and more healthy days at home.

June 5, 2023 - The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a quality program administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has granted re-accredited status to Breast Health Center – Phoenixville.

June 20, 2023 - In my more than 25 years at Reading Hospital, as an emergency physician and now as its president and CEO, I have never been prouder of the people who are Reading Hospital.
