For many patients, a phone or video virtual visit may be the best way to see a St. Christopher’s physician. We are offering safe, secure virtual visits for a variety of services for new and existing patients when it is medically appropriate. Keep in mind that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the virtual visit.
It’s easy and convenient. Just schedule a visit with your child’s doctor as you normally would, and their office will email you a link to our Telehealth service if a virtual visit is appropriate for our child’s condition and symptoms. When it’s time for your appointment, click on the link and check in. You’ll be placed into a virtual waiting room for a few minutes until the doctor is available. Then you can talk to the doctor right from the comfort of your home on your computer, tablet or smart phone.
Virtual Care means:
• No transportation time.
• Avoid the potential risk of exposure to illnesses.
• Reduced wait time.
• Access to St. Christopher’s specialists.
• If you have other children, there is no need to arrange for childcare for them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a virtual visit?
The use of audio and video technology to provide care for patients at a distance.
Is it secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted and none of your information is stored. Our virtual visit services are powered by doxy.me, which is compliant with all HIPAA regulations.
What can doctors treat through virtual visits?
Virtual visits are a good way to have a consultation on a new issue to determine if your child needs to be referred to a specialist. They are also especially helpful for follow-up visits to see how a medication or treatment is working.
Are you accepting new patients via virtual care?
Established St. Christopher’s patients have access to all the virtual care options their provider is offering, which may differ from doctor to doctor. For new patients, there may be some limitations – it’s best to contact the doctor’s office directly and confirm if a virtual visit is an option for your child.
How can I make an appointment?
Virtual visits are scheduled by the physician’s office. Call your child’s doctor and to determine if it is appropriate for your child, or call 1-888-CHRISKIDS and the representative will help you determine if a virtual visit is appropriate.
Do I need to set up an account or download software?
No. Your doctor’s office will email you a link to their private URL. When it’s time for your appointment, just click on the link and sign in to their virtual waiting room.
What do I need for a virtual visit?
A computer, smartphone or tablet that has a camera and microphone, and a web browser. Our virtual visits are powered by doxy.me, which is compatible with Chrome, Safari and Firefox. It is strongly recommended to use your home Wi-Fi if you have it, instead of your cellular network.
Is there a time limit when talking with a doctor?
No, like an in-person doctor’s visit, you can speak to the doctor for as long as needed.
What if I miss my virtual visit?
It’s important for your child’s health to keep your appointment – just like an in-person visit, staff and physicians are standing by at your designated time. If you are unable to make your appointment, please inform your doctor’s office and they will reschedule you.
Can doctors write a prescription on a virtual visit?
Yes. If medically necessary, a prescription will be sent to your pharmacy of choice. Note: Substances controlled by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), non- therapeutic and/or certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential abuse are not prescribed during a virtual visit.
How do I pay for it?
Your doctor’s office will bill your insurance, just like an in-person visit.
