Early Cancer Prevention

For women who qualify, the Pennsylvania Department of Health offers a free breast and cervical cancer early detection program. Early detection improves survival. Call 215-248-6100 to find out if you qualify for a free mammogram and PAP test and to schedule an appointment. You must be 50 years or older and without health insurance. If you are younger than 50 and are having a breast problem, you may also qualify.

    Free Screening Mammography Program

    Regular mammograms are still the best tests doctors have to find breast cancer early. The Chestnut Hill Hospital free screening mammography program provides screening to women who qualify. To be eligible, women must meet the following requirements:

    • Reside in 19118, 19119, 19128, 19138, 19144, 19150, 19444, 19462, 19031 or 19038 zip code
    • Have no insurance
    • Be 40-64 years old
    • Have a household income at or below 250 percent of the federal poverty annual guideline.
