We provide information resources and services to healthcare staff, residents, employees and students of Reading Hospital. We are open by appointment to community members for health-related information searches.
Reading Hospital employees and students have access to a robust collection of online databases, eJournals, eBooks and point of care resources. The library's online subscription resources include DynaMed, Clinical Key, Embase, Ovid, EBSCOhost, Nursing Reference Center Plus, and JBI, among others.
We also maintain a print collection for healthcare professionals featuring books on medicine, nursing, allied health and healthcare management. In addition, the library subscribes to several medical and nursing journals in print format.
We have 16 desktop computers for patron use as well as wireless Internet access.
Access to consumer health information resources is provided as a courtesy to patients, patient care-givers and the local community. People wishing to use the library for health-related information seeking purposes must contact our staff to make an appointment prior to their visit. Patients, patient care-givers and community members have access to the Elaine G. Dunitz Library, located in the waiting area of McGlinn Cancer Institute. This special collection of books offers inspiration, support, and education for people living with a chronic or life-threatening illness and for their caregivers.
Our professional library staff can provide research and information literacy services including literature reviews, instruction, document retrieval, and inter-library loan services to Reading Hospital employees, staff and students.
