Leadership

Quality Academics and Research

We have wonderful faculty who are dedicated to teaching and mentoring. We have relationships with and rotating students from Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and fourth-year sub-I rotations from various schools. We have daily educational sessions, monthly morbidity and mortality conferences, monthly tumor conference, and evidence-based journal clubs.

We boast many innovative educational features, including:

  • Significant research experiences
  • A mock oral board examination
  • High-quality, minimally invasive surgery experiences
  • A formal simulation curriculum
  • An onsite cadaver lab for anatomy training

Accreditation

Reading Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency meets the requirements of The Residency Review Committee (Obstetrics and Gynecology) and is fully approved by The Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education.

Student-focused Environment

With a five resident per year complement, we promote close teaching relationships and increased opportunities to learn. Our program is fully accredited by the ACGME.

With more than 3,500 deliveries per year and an active MFM service, we provide a comprehensive experience in obstetrics, high-risk OB, and obstetrical procedures. An experienced surgical staff and a high volume permit extensive training in general, endoscopic, oncologic, and urogynecologic procedures. Well situated geographically, the Reading area boasts diverse recreational and family-centered activities, as well as easy access to major metropolitan areas such as New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore.

As you plan your future career in OB/GYN, realize that residency lasts only four years. Hence, a well-rounded program with a balance of academics and clinical experience will be the best preparation toward being a lifelong learner in any path you choose. I look forward to hearing from you, learning more about you, and giving you an opportunity to learn more about us.

Our residents have consistently distinguished themselves through academic achievements and I am confident that they get outstanding training and are well-prepared for their careers. If you find your interests are a fit with our academically focused yet clinically based mission, we would be excited to have you explore the possibility of joining our team and family of physicians and academicians who share in the pursuit of education, academic excellence, outstanding patient care, and quality research.
