We are happy to welcome you to the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children's Pediatric Residency Program website! Thank you for your interest in our program.

We are a residency program with a long history of training excellent pediatricians. We provide a very rich and supportive learning environment that is complemented by faculty members who have a passion for educating and mentoring residents. In fact, many of our faculty have trained at St. Christopher's and have chosen to stay in (or return to) the institution to continue the tradition of excellent teaching. We serve a diverse patient population, and the hospital and residency program are proudly dedicated to advocating for our patients and our community.

The mission of our residency program is to train excellent pediatricians who will serve as leaders in their profession, no matter where their career path takes them. We expect that our graduates will commit themselves to education – not only their own, but also that of their patients, colleagues, and community. We graduate physicians who continue to advocate for patients and families throughout their careers in general and subspecialty pediatrics.

Throughout training, we work with each individual resident to identify their personal and professional goals and support them in experiencing unique clinical and research experiences to optimally prepare them for their future career in general pediatrics, academic pediatrics, or subspecialty care.

Through clinical experiences, we emphasize the development of strong clinical reasoning skills and autonomy. We have designed our curriculum to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to be an outstanding pediatrician and leader. This is accomplished through an extensive formal teaching program, including regular attending rounds, noon conferences, daily 'chief' rounds, grand rounds, and numerous subspecialty conferences. Curricular highlights include many longitudinal elements developed here before becoming modeled by other institutions, including Teaching to Teach, Child Advocacy, Evidence-Based Medicine, and Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.

Please explore our website and discover why St. Christopher's Hospital for Children's Residency Program may be the perfect place to begin your training in pediatrics.

We look forward to the possibility of meeting and working with you in the future! Follow us on Instagram (@stchrispeds) to keep up with our amazing residents!
