From the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program at Drexel University - Tower Health. We are located in Philadelphia, one of the most vibrant and affordable urban areas in the country, with a rich history as the birthplace of our nation. The program was re-established in 2019 following the merger of Drexel University College of Medicine Psychiatry (a long-standing academic psychiatry training program) and Tower Health (a thriving non-profit regional health system) and is an ACGME-accredited two-year fellowship training program.

We strive to foster a learning environment reflective of the values of our program and institution: authenticity and transparency; responsibility to our community; collegiality and mutual respect; creativity and innovation - with the ultimate goal of developing Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists who provide compassionate evidence-based care that is socially and structurally competent, trauma-informed, and intersectional. Our fellows (past and present) are passionate about psychiatry through academic and research endeavors, clinical care, and advocacy.

We aim to expose our fellows to a wide variety of patient populations and clinical settings to ensure that our fellows feel confident and competent no matter where their career takes them. Our didactic curriculum and clinical experiences emphasize advocacy and psychotherapy as critical components of psychiatric practice. Our faculty and department leadership create a culture of accountability and transparency through continual assessment and improvement of our training program, and value input from all stakeholders regardless of their role. Our faculty remain committed to fellows' education and overall well-being and are national leaders in psychiatric education and psychotherapy training.

We are delighted that you are considering training at Drexel University - Tower Health and thank you for considering our program. Please contact us if you have questions regarding our program.
