“SCHC was an incredible place to train... high volume and high acuity, yet paired with close, personal coaching from expert faculty. It gave me an optimal combination of experience and confidence that helped me transition seamlessly into practice” - Lia Cruz, DO
“I truly feel lucky to have been chosen to train at St. Chris. I have never felt more prepared to be out in the real world due to the huge range of acuity and volume I saw in my 3 years at St. Chris. The attendings are so amazing and work well together to accommodate your learning style and fine-tune your skill sets. The relationships I gained from the St. Chris family will last a lifetime!“ - Caroline Browning, DO
“St. Chris was a wonderful place to learn how to expertly manage a broad range of pediatric emergency patients, from the occasional primary care concerns (as an EM residency trained fellow, this was important to me) to of course the high-acuity presentations, which are usually multiple times a shift being at the only level one pediatric trauma center in the area. I felt supported by a diverse faculty and resident team, skilled pediatric ED nurses, and subspecialties on call should you need them. Finally, my favorite part of St. Chris was the patients themselves. Being located in a largely underserved area allowed us to work with a rewarding patient population, such that I felt like I was making a difference every day.” - Caroline Shepherd, DO
I truly enjoyed my fellowship experience at SCHC. I was able to learn directly from PEM faculty and through multidisciplinary collaboration with pediatric sub-specialists. The curriculum also allowed me the opportunity to experience managing my own ED zone. I learned the skills and confidence needed to make medical decisions and become a strong leader in my own Emergency Department. - Chris Malabanan
