At select Tower Health locations, we can combine robotics and minimally invasive techniques, allowing your surgeon to provide the most precise and least invasive treatment option available for a wide range of conditions. Robotic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery.
Benefits of robotic minimally invasive surgery include:
Less blood loss
Less surgical pain
Less scarring
Reduced risk of complications, including surgical site infections
Shorter hospital stay
Faster recovery
Advantages of Robotic Surgery
Compared to open or other minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques, robotic surgery may offer several advantages:
It uses innovative robotic technology. Tiny surgical tools and a camera are attached to robotic arms. Your surgeon controls these arms from a computer.
It helps increase precision and control. As your surgeon moves their hand, wrist and fingers, the robotic arms perform the same subtle movements — at the same time. Robotic arms can also bend and rotate more fully than human hands.
It enhances your surgeon’s vision. During robotic surgery, a high-definition camera provides a close-up, 3D view of the surgical area. During other minimally invasive procedures, the surgeon has only a two-dimensional view.
