Registered Nurses who obtain board certification play an increasingly pivotal role in the high standards of care for patients and their loved ones. Nursing, like healthcare in general, has become more and more complex, especially through novel pandemics and periods of extreme change. While a registered nurse (RN) license provides entry to general nursing practice, the knowledge-intensive requirements of modern nursing require extensive education, as well as strong personal commitment to personal and professional excellence provided through continuing education.

Chestnut Hill Hospital encourages board certification for all its registered nurses. Patients are encouraged to inquire whether there are certified nurses on staff when they visit the hospital or their primary care provider. Nursing certifications are available for numerous specialties, such as medical-surgical, pain management, cardiovascular, oncology, hospice, case management, emergency nursing, and critical care.

Please join Chestnut Hill Hospital and the nation’s national nursing certification organizations in honoring these hard-working, dedicated nurses for their professionalism and commitment to their profession and their patients.
