On Monday, October 21, Tower Health expanded its weight management program and moved to a larger location. The new facility, Tower Health Weight Loss Surgery & Wellness Center, brings together physicians, dietitians, and psychologists to combine weight loss care at 1220 Broadcasting Road, Suite 100 in Wyomissing. A new Healthy Teens Program, for teens ages 13 to 17, offers weight loss options to help younger persons take control of their weight and live healthy.

The new location boasts a commercial Teaching Kitchen where patients will participate in hands-on, healthy meal preparation and education from Tower Health dietitians, a free Clothing Closet to supplement patient wardrobes throughout their weight loss journey, and access to a state-of-the-art fitness center with weights and conditioning equipment. Specialists build an individualized, sustainable nutrition and fitness regimen for each patient to keep them motivated and empowered to achieve lifelong wellness.

"Our larger facility will help our team provide the best care for our patients on their weight loss journey," said Stephan Myers, MD, Medical Director for the Weight Loss Surgery & Wellness Center. "We are thrilled that this specialized facility will give our patients all the weight loss care they need in one convenient location."

As one of only a few programs in the state for young people, the new Healthy Teens program focuses on developing realistic plans to reach "a healthier weight" through age-appropriate education and support, while also providing the tools to build self-confidence and stay motivated to ensure success - now and throughout adulthood. The Healthy Teens Program is under the direction of Renee Riddle, MD, Pediatrician, and Dr. Myers.

Tower Health Weight Loss Surgery & Wellness Center offers a comprehensive program for medical weight-loss solutions, as well as surgical weight-loss options based on each individual's needs. Our medical and support staff are specially trained and certified in obesity medicine.

The Weight Loss Surgery & Wellness Center program is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program, which ensures our patients receive the most comprehensive, collaborative approach to treatment and recovery possible. The Center also holds a Blue Distinction Center+ designation in gastric stapling surgery from Highmark, demonstrating its ability to provide a full range of bariatric surgery care, including inpatient care, post-operative care, outpatient follow-up care, and patient education.
