Tower Health at Home Hospice has completed a Medicare/State Licensure recertification survey with no deficiencies found. Surveyors conducted the unannounced survey onsite over the course of three days in October.

These surveys are conducted to determine whether a hospice meets all the participation requirements for Medicare and/or Medicaid programs. Surveyors also evaluate performance and effectiveness in rendering a safe and acceptable quality of care. The visit involved a thorough review of patient records, organizational chart/structure, the admission packet, complaints or grievances received over the past 12 months, infection control programs, the emergency preparedness program, and three home visits – among other administrative and patient care areas.

“It’s common for up to 80 percent of hospices participating in Medicare to have at least one deficiency. Completing the survey with no deficiencies speaks to the hard work and dedication of the Tower Health at Home Hospice team,” says William Dunstan, CEO, Tower Health at Home. “Even with the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve stayed committed to maintaining the highest standards and an excellent quality of care.”
