Tower Health recently concluded a social media wellness campaign designed to promote the benefits of healthy eating, as well as raise money for local food banks.
The campaign, TowerGimmeFive, encouraged individuals to eat more fruits and vegetables. To participate, individuals had to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day for five days, then post about it on social media using the hashtag TowerGimmeFive. The three-month campaign, which ran from August 1 to October 31, also included educational information and events, cooking classes, and grocery store gift card giveaways.
The TowerGimmeFive campaign generated more than 1 million impressions on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In recognition of the community's participation, Tower Health will be making donations to support three local food banks.
Clint Matthews, President and CEO, Tower Health, and Bill Jennings, President and CEO, Reading Hospital, made the first donation, presenting a $5,000 check to the Greater Berks Food Bank. The check presentation took place on Wednesday, December 12.
On Monday, December 17, at 1 p.m. Jeff Hunt, President & CEO, Brandywine Hospital; Claire Mooney, Interim President & CEO, Jennersville Hospital; and Michael Kelly, Senior Director of Operations, Phoenixville Hospital will present a $5,000 check to the Chester County Food Bank, 650 Pennsylvania Drive, Exton.
John Cacciamani, MD, President & CEO, Chestnut Hill Hospital and Rich Newell, President & CEO, Pottstown Hospital will present a $5,000 check to Share Food Program on Wednesday, December 19, at 2 p.m. Share Food Program is located at 191 Town Center Road, King of Prussia.
