Reading Hospital to Celebrate National EMS Week by Hosting Barbeque for EMS Professionals on May 22

Reading Hospital will celebrate National EMS Week, May 19-25, 2019, by inviting Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals to a barbeque in their honor on Wednesday, May 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Reading Hospital in front of the Trauma Center entrance.

"EMS professionals provide emergent, urgent, and preventive care to help patients and their families every day. Reading Hospital joins the national effort to recognize the important role EMS professionals have in saving lives right here in our community," said Charles Barbera, MD, Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine at Reading Hospital.

EMS professionals respond every day to medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, motor vehicle accidents, and other injuries. They also provide skilled, compassionate care as an integrated component of the community's healthcare system.

This year is the 45th annual National EMS Week and the theme is "EMS Strong: Beyond The Call." EMS professionals who have questions about the Reading Hospital barbeque are encouraged to call 484-628-HELP (4357).
