Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge Named TrueNorth Award Winner

The Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge was recently named a winner of the 2018 TrueNorth Award from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI), one of two organizations honored nationwide.

The award recognizes perioperative nursing facilities whose "true north" guides the nursing staff to be lifelong learners and models of continuous outstanding patient care.

The Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge and the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System were named dual recipients of TrueNorth Awards in 2018, according to CCI. The Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge is the first Ambulatory Surgery Center to win the award.

The TrueNorth Award recognizes organizations with Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credentials, of which all the nurses at The Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge hold. Tower Health supports the CNOR facility by providing increased compensation for the CNOR credential, reimbursement for testing costs, and public recognition of the CNOR certification in the SurgiCenter's waiting room. This emphasis on certification has resulted in the center's consistently low infection and complication rates.
