Reading Rehabilitation Hospital at Wyomissing (RHRW) has received Three-Year Accreditation from The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for the seventh consecutive time, representing 21 years of certification. This includes, for the first time, accreditation for the RHRW's Adult Spinal Cord Specialty Program.

The three-year accreditation applies to five inpatient rehabilitation programs for adults, including:

  1. Adult Spinal Cord Specialty Program
  2. General Medical Rehabilitation
  3. Amputation Specialty Program
  4. Brain Injury Specialty Program
  5. Stroke Specialty Program

"Tremendous teamwork is required to receive CARF accreditation, which reflects the Hospital's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of patients," said P. Sue Perrotty, Tower Health President and CEO. "CARF also recognized that our work environment fosters teamwork and mutual respect among all levels of staff. I thank Kelley Crozier, MD, Chair, Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; Nicole Hartman, MSN, RN, MRMC, Program Director; Rebecca Orischak, Therapy Professional Development Coordinator; and Kristina Gingrich, Senior Director of Rehab Operations, for their leadership and congratulations to the entire RHRW team for the amazing work they do every day."

CARF accreditation represents the highest level of accreditation for rehab facilities and shows RHRW's substantial conformance to the CARF standards. Three-Year Accreditation requires a rigorous peer review process, during which RHRW demonstrated to a team of surveyors its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

RHRW serves patients who have experienced functional loss of ability because of an accident, illness, or injury. The facility offers everything from comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and transitional care to outpatient programs. We have a specialized team of board-certified rehab physicians, certified rehab nurses, clinicians, and dedicated therapists who deliver high-quality care and encouragement through state-of the-art-technology, advanced therapies, and wellness environments.
