Tower Health to Present $5,000 Donation to the Greater Berks Food Bank

Tower Health recently concluded a social media wellness campaign designed to promote the benefits of healthy eating, as well as raise money for local food banks.

The campaign, TowerGimmeFive, encouraged individuals to eat more fruits and vegetables. To participate, individuals had to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day for five days, then post about it on social media using the hashtag TowerGimmeFive. The three-month campaign, which ran from August 1 to October 31, also included educational information and events, cooking classes, and grocery store gift card giveaways.

The TowerGimmeFive campaign generated more than 1 million impressions on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In recognition of the community's participation, Tower Health will be making donations to support three local food banks.

Clint Matthews, President and CEO, Tower Health, and Bill Jennings, President and CEO, Reading Hospital, will make the first donation, presenting a $5,000 check to the Greater Berks Food Bank. The check presentation will take place on Wednesday, December 12 at 11:45 a.m. at the food bank's location on Morgan Drive in Reading.

Tower Health is invested in inspiring the people of Berks County and beyond to live their healthiest lives. As a non-profit healthcare system, we continually reinvest in our people, our technology, our facilities, and our community, all in pursuit of our mission to advance the health and wellness of our communities.
