Twenty-Five Reading Hospital Physicians Graduate from Applied Physician Leadership Academy

Several Reading Hospital physicians are recent graduates of an intensive leadership development program focused on developing their skills in helping others, driving results and bringing about change.

The 25 physician leaders graduated on April 12 from the Applied Physician Leadership Academy (APLA), an 18-month leadership development program that was customized for Tower Health. The program is designed to engage and develop physician as leaders in their individual practices, hospitals, and communities. Physicians learn about their personal leadership style, and topics such as clinical integration, emotional intelligence, leading through change, and performance and business fundamentals. The participants take part in active learning projects where they worked together on achieving Tower Health strategic objectives.

This is the second cohort of graduates; last year, 28 physicians graduated from the program. The APLA is offered in conjunction with the Leadership Development Group, a group leadership and organization development consulting firm.
