What is an Ultrasound?
Sometimes called sonography, ultrasounds bounce high-frequency sound waves off the body to produce a real-time picture of the internal structures including organ formation, movement and blood flow.
Ultrasounds do not use radiation, which is why procedure is widely used during pregnancy, but it can also be used to detect soft tissue issues and diagnose a variety of other conditions, including those in the pancreas, thyroid kidneys, bladder, liver, gallbladder, heart, blood vessels, spleen, uterus, ovaries, eyes, and more.
