Seven Tower Health employees received special awards as part of the system’s recognition of Advance Practice Providers Week. Those awarded have made a positive and lasting impact on their colleagues, patients, and the community.

Tower Health accepted nominations for the Advanced Practice Provider Excellence Award and the Physician Collaboration Award. Honorees were selected by their fellow health system colleagues.

The Advanced Practice Provider Excellence Award recognizes outstanding Advanced Practice Providers (APP) who have contributed to the profession and their respective hospitals, while the Physician Collaboration Award recognizes physician and APP collaboration, education, and advocacy.

This year’s recipients include:

Phoenixville Hospital:

  • Megan Guinan CRNP - Hematology/Oncology

Pottstown Hospital:

  • Kimberly Tobin CRNP - Family Medicine
  • Naineshkumar Patel, MD, Vice Chief of Staff - Cardiology

“The work our APPs do each day is critical to the success of our organization,” said Suzanne Wenderoth, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Tower Health. “They are dedicated to their patients and are true partners who work across the organization to continually enhance the level of care we provide. It is an honor to celebrate this recognition week and acknowledge their expertise. I sincerely thank them for all they do.”

This recognition coincides with the celebration of National Advanced Practice Provider Week from September 25 to September 29. During this week, we celebrate the contributions of Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Certified Nurse Midwives. APPs are an important group who contribute to the advancement of medicine and nursing to ensure that our most vulnerable populations receive high-quality, evidence-based care.

“This year’s national theme is ‘APPsolute Excellence.’ This is a fitting theme for the amazing team of APPs we have at Tower Health,” said Amanda McNicholas, DNP, MBA, CRNP, Tower Health’s Chief Advanced Practice Provider Officer and Reading Hospital Vice President, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Critical Care Services. “This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness about the growing role of APPs in healthcare.”
