The Friends of Reading Hospital will host its annual Holiday Happening Artisans Fair on Thursday, December 5, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Reading Hospital's 5th Avenue Lobby. The event features more than 20 local and regional vendors and a variety of merchandise for sale including, homemade baked goods, seasonal decor, gourmet food items, handcrafted jewelry, and much more.

Holiday Happening is free and open to the public. Free valet parking is available at the 5th Avenue Garage. Net proceeds benefit programs funded by The Friends of Reading Hospital, including patient comfort items such as quilts, chemo caps, and more, as well as programs that support the health and well-being of our community including HeartSAFE Berks County and Street Medicine.

Each year, The Friends of Reading Hospital sell homemade cookies at the event. On Monday, December 2, from 8 a.m. to noon, 16 Reading Hospital volunteer bakers will gather at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd, Reading, 19611 to finish baking the final batches of cookies, a total of 33 different kinds. The Friends plan to top last year's cookie sales of 1,200 boxes. Media is invited to attend cookie baking as well as the Holiday Happening event.
