On Friday, April 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Reading Hospital will host a luncheon to celebrate the individuals who donate their time, compassion, joy, talent, and everlasting commitment to the hospital, our patients, and the community. Their volunteer work contributes greatly to Reading Hospital's commitment to "Advancing Health. Transforming Lives." The luncheon will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel, 701 Penn Street, Reading. The event will include remarks from William M. Jennings, Reading Hospital President & CEO and an awards presentation.

Reading Hospital couldn't do all that it does without the help of its dedicated volunteers. In 2018, 418 volunteers donated a total of 69,268 hours of service. Volunteers serve in 36 areas within the hospital, three areas at Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing, and two additional offsite locations. Our generous community volunteers made and donated - more than 61,000 patient comfort items such as baby hats, prayer shawls, neck pillows, compression pillows, and sleep masks.

"The support our volunteers provide is priceless," said William M. Jennings, Reading Hospital President and CEO. "They are an asset to the team and we look forward to recognizing their hard work and dedication."

The luncheon will honor volunteers, junior volunteers, knitters and crafters, volunteer groups, members of The Friends of Reading Hospital, and service projects and programs that utilize volunteers to benefit the community.
