Tower Health’s commitment to clinical quality has once again earned the health system national recognition from Healthgrades for the high-quality care that its team members provide to patients in several clinical specialty areas.

Reading Hospital - Reading Hospital was recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care for the second year in a row. Reading Hospital also received the Joint Replacement Excellence Award™, the Neuroscience Excellence Award™, and Five-Star Distinction for the treatment of Heart Failure, COPD, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, and Bowel Obstruction. Reading Hospital also received Five-Star Distinction for Peripheral Vascular Bypass Surgery, Cranial Neurosurgery, Colorectal Surgery, and Vaginal Delivery.

Phoenixville Hospital - Phoenixville Hospital achieved a Five-Star rating for Colorectal Surgery, Vaginal Delivery, and C-Section Delivery.

Pottstown Hospital - Pottstown Hospital received a Five-Star rating for the treatment of Heart Attack, Heart Failure, COPD, Sepsis, and Respiratory Failure; as well as for Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery.

“I congratulate our team members, once again, for receiving national recognition for the clinical care they provide to our patients,” said P. Sue Perrotty, Tower Health president and CEO. “Our care team continues to strive to be among the best, and it is being recognized.”

Healthgrades evaluates hospitals solely on clinical outcomes: risk-adjusted mortality and complications. By focusing on what matters most, patient outcomes, the Healthgrades ratings provide critical feedback for both patients and hospitals. By offering easy access to objective performance measures, Healthgrades gives consumers the information they need to find a hospital that excels at providing the care they need. For example, from 2020-2022, patients treated at hospitals among America’s 100 Best for Stroke Care will have, on average, a 41.6% lower risk of dying than if treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.* The 2024 hospital assessment evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 35 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top performers.

“Healthgrades congratulates Tower Health for being a national leader and demonstrating a deep commitment to providing high quality care to all patients,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “As health systems nationwide endeavor to elevate the quality of care, these elite facilities provide a roadmap for success.”
