Conditions We Treat

Our team treats a range of spine conditions, including:

  • Scoliosis
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Spondylolysis

Spine conditions can affect children of any age. Sometimes, children are born with a spine problem, such as spina bifida. Spine problems can also happen after an injury. In some cases, such as scoliosis, the problem pops up as the child grows.

Treatment Options for Spine and Scoliosis Problems

Treatment for spine conditions depends on the diagnosis, but there are many nonsurgical options. Our orthopedic team specializes in all types of treatment, which means we’ll be able to find the right choice for your child.

We specialize in nonsurgical treatment options for spine conditions, including therapy and braces. Our team also includes an in-house orthotist who can create customized spine orthotics. Orthotics can help reduce pain and provide better support and alignment.

If nonsurgical treatments don’t work, we have highly skilled surgeons who specialize in spine surgery, including spinal fusion. We use advanced 3D imaging and navigation during surgery to help make sure the treatment is accurate and effective.

We offer some spine therapies that are only available at a few centers in the country. One of these treatments is vertebral body tethering, which is sometimes used instead of spinal fusion surgery. During the procedure, the doctor places screws on the curved part of the spine. A rope (tether) is attached to the screws and pulled tight to straighten the curve.
