Reading Health System is hosting a recognition event to celebrate the hard work and dedication of local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) partners. The recognition ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in 5th Avenue Conference Center, Room 2, at Reading Hospital.  

At the ceremony, Western Berks Ambulance Association and Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association will receive the American Heart Association Mission Lifeline Gold Plus Award. Southern Berks Regional EMS and the City of Reading Fire EMS will receive the Gold Award, and Boyertown Lions Community Ambulance, Bally Community Ambulance Association and Schuylkill Valley EMS will receive the Bronze Award.

The awards recognize the dedication and commitment put forth by these emergency medical services agencies to partner with the receiving hospitals in order to maximize patient outcomes by early recognition of acute heart attacks and rapid intervention and correction by hospital cardiac catheterization teams.
