If you’re experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.

You have enough things to worry about during a medical emergency –and how to pay for an ambulance ride shouldn’t be one of them.

TowerDIRECT offers ambulance memberships (also known as ambulance subscriptions) to individuals and families in select locations in Berks County and Chester County. After you pay a nominal annual membership fee, you have access to unlimited emergency transportation should you need it.

We also offer discounted rates to TowerDIRECT members who are bedridden or use a wheelchair and need transportation to and from a routine medical appointment.

Greater peace of mind for a fraction of the cost.

When emergency medical technicians (EMTs) or paramedics respond to your 911 call, you could be charged upwards of $1,000 for the costs of ambulance transportation, mileage, and medical supplies. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be responsible for paying some or all of these costs out of your own pocket.

Fortunately, TowerDIRECT offers a more affordable alternative. Our ambulance membership costs range from $65 - $110 per year, depending on your age and the number of people in your household.

As a TowerDIRECT member, when you call 911 you receive the same rapid emergency response and life-saving “prehospital” care as everyone else. But, you don’t have to pay for any of the emergency transportation fees that your health insurance provider doesn’t cover.

How it Works

Here’s what you can expect if you (or any family members included in your ambulance membership) need emergency medical care:

  • After you call 911, TowerDIRECT EMS will be dispatched to your location.
  • Depending on the nature of your call, we’ll send at least one EMT or paramedic (or a combination of both) to assist you on-site and in the ambulance.
  • The costs of your emergency medical transportation will be billed to your health insurance company.
  • TowerDIRECT will pay for any remaining emergency transportation costs that your insurance plan didn’t cover.
Routine Medical Transportation

If you need a wheelchair to get around – or your family member is confined to a bed – TowerDIRECT can provide routine medical transportation in one of our wheelchair vans or ambulances. This includes:

  • Trips to and from doctor appointments
  • Trips to and from a dialysis center
  • Transportation home after a hospital stay

TowerDIRECT members pay $65 plus mileage for roundtrip wheelchair transport, and $100 plus mileage for a roundtrip, nonemergency ambulance transport.

We recommend you schedule your medical transportation seven days in advance to ensure vehicle availability. To schedule your ride, please call 484-628-4493.
