September 15, 2021 - Reading Hospital – Tower Health announced today that its Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) was recently recognized with the silver Beacon Award for Excellence by The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). This is the second consecutive Beacon Award for this intensive care unit.

September 13, 2021 - Reading Hospital Foundation received a $25,000 donation August 23 from Herbein + Company, Inc. (Herbein) toward the purchase of a mobile mammography coach and naming rights to the coach’s reception/waiting area.

September 10, 2021 - Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing will hold its 8th Annual Amputee Golf Outing, sponsored by The Amputee Support Group, on Tuesday, September 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sittler’s at Sinking Spring (located at 497 Mountain Home Road, Sinking Spring).

September 2, 2021 - Tower Health hospitals were recently recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Achievement Awards, Get With The Guidelines - Heart Failure Achievement Award, and Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Award for treatment of patients with heart attack.

August 30, 2021 - On Friday, August 27, patients at McGlinn Cancer Institute at Reading Hospital received a special delivery from Junior Girl Scout Emily West, age 10, of Maryland. In coordination with McGlinn Cancer Institute and Reading Hospital Foundation, Emily created 127 “bags of love” for patients receiving chemotherapy.

August 26, 2021 - Reading Hospital Magnet Champions are partnering with the United Way to coordinate the 2021 Stuff the Bus - Adopt a Classroom campaign for Reading School District. Reading Hospital departments adopted a total of 104 classrooms in Glenside Elementary, Millmont Elementary, and Tyson-Schoener Elementary, along with all 21 Reading Area School District Nurses.

August 20, 2021 - On Monday, August 2, The Friends of Reading Hospital (The Friends) hosted 84 golfers at the Annual Tower Golf Classic at the Berkshire Country Club in Reading. Proceeds from the event went towards The Friends's $100,000 commitment to a fundraising project in cooperation with the Reading Hospital Foundation to purchase a Reading Hospital Mobile Mammography Coach. 

August 17, 2021 - Tower Health announced today that it will require COVID-19 vaccination for all Tower Health employees when the FDA gives the vaccine full approval—a milestone anticipated within the coming weeks.
