May 17, 2021 - According to both the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, all persons must continue to wear masks in all hospitals, outpatient facilities, urgent care centers, and physician offices. In compliance with this guidance, Tower Health will continue its current policies requiring all employees, medical staff, patients, and visitors to wear masks in inside all Tower Health facilities, including all clinical and non-clinical areas such as hallways, dining areas, and common spaces.

April 22, 2021 - Reading Hospital Foundation announced today that it received a $320,694 Impact Grant from the United Way of Berks County to help fund the Street Medicine Program.

April 15, 2021 - In accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) guidelines, Tower Health has opened scheduling of vaccination appointments to all individuals 16 years of age and older.

April 3, 2021 - Congratulations to two selfless NICU nurses - Michelle Fetich, BSN, RN, Clinical Nurse Manager, and Sharon Voelker, BSN, RN II - on receiving the March Platinum Quality Award.

April 1, 2021 - Each day, 17 people in the United States die while waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Tower Health is pleased to join the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) and Gift of Life Donor Program and organ procurement organizations throughout the country to inspire hope, advocacy, and passion as part of a statewide campaign to promote organ and tissue donation. Gift of Life encourages individuals to register to become an organ, tissue, and cornea donor.

March 31, 2021 - Debbie Rahn, EdD, MSN, RN, Director of Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences (RHSHS), was recently elected as Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) for a one-year term.

March 30, 2021 - Reading Hospital and Reading Hospital Foundation announced today the COVID-19 Memorial Ceremony, originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 31, will be rescheduled for Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. 

March 29, 2021 - On the morning of Tuesday, July 7, 2020, Reading Hospital employee Michelle Rose suffered sudden cardiac arrest while on her break in the hospital cafeteria. Several employees immediately jumped into action to save their colleague’s life.

March 24, 2021 - Reading Hospital – Tower Health has been ranked number 92 on Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Hospitals 2021. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., a statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

March 23, 2021 - On Wednesday, March 31, at 7 p.m., Reading Hospital and Reading Hospital Foundation will host a COVID-19 memorial ceremony to pay tribute to Berks County residents who have died from COVID-19.
