April 7, 2022 - Tower Health announced today that Pamela Hernandez will become Tower Health’s new Senior Vice President and Chief Human Engagement Officer, effective Monday, April 11.

April 5, 2022 - Tower Health is pleased to join The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) and Gift of Life Donor Program to inspire hope, advocacy, and passion as part of a statewide campaign to promote organ and tissue donation.

April 4, 2022 - Reading Hospital Foundation announced today it has received a $25,000 donation from Mid Penn Bank for the mobile mammography patient assistance fund. Donations to the Patient Assistance Fund support women who are uninsured or underinsured in receiving this important screening without worry about access or cost.

March 31, 2022 - The Tower Health Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Charles Barbera, MD, MBA, MPH, FACEP, as president and CEO of Reading Hospital, effective April 4, 2022. Dr. Barbera brings deep experience to the position, having served in a variety of senior clinical and executive roles during his more than 25-year tenure with the health system.

March 30, 2022 - The Reading Hospital Magnet Champions Team partnered with Helping Harvest to coordinate the 2022 Pound Per Person Food Challenge at Reading Hospital, and surpassed the goal by donating 8,800 pounds of food.

March 28, 2022 - Tower Health encourages the community to recognize and thank doctors for their dedication on March 30, National Doctors' Day.

March 21, 2022 - The Friends of Reading Hospital announced that the Reading Hospital Road Run will again return to West Reading this fall, on the morning of Sunday, October 16. The 2022 event will include a Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and a 5K (3.1 miles), with both routes primarily covering fast and scenic roadways around the Reading Hospital in West Reading and surrounding neighborhoods.

March 14, 2022 - Tower Health is recognizing two years of COVID-19 in the community.

March 9, 2022 - Tower Health has updated guidance for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, for employees, patients, and visitors. Per their guidance, masking is still required in healthcare settings.

February 28, 2022 - Reading Hospital is recognizing the 5th anniversary of its Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) Center of Excellence (COE). Since it opened in 2017, 770 patients have been served by the program, which has 81 active patients today.
