Many people have a heart to give and love to be active. Being a helping hands volunteer keeps you on the move running errands, delivering supplies, organizing closets, and helping staff with more physical activities.
- Patient Transport - take discharged patients to their waiting loved ones
- Nutrition Services - help to make up patient trays and kitchen support
- Storeroom Distribution - take medical supplies to nursing units
- Patient Floors - take water to patients, help patients use the TV, inventory patient belongings, and restock patient rooms
Clerical volunteers are needed in many areas of the Reading Hospital. If you love to file, answer phones, and do light clerical tasks, we have a place for you.
Are you at least 16 years of age and considering going into the medical field? Do you have a desire to help alleviate many people's suffering? Would you like to volunteer in the busiest Emergency Department in the state? We would love to have you volunteer. You will be trained and mentored by one of our experienced volunteers.
These volunteers have a heart for being a kind presence and offer companionship to patients.
Duties: Read, play games, and/or listen to patients, capture patient stories via the Story Catcher program for staff, bring patients small comforts such as a glass of water.
