For 158 years, Reading Hospital has been the heartbeat of Berks County – caring for generations of families through life's most exciting and vulnerable moments.

To celebrate that incredible legacy and shape the future of healthcare in our community, we’re hosting our 1st Annual Reading Hospital Champions of Care Dinner on September 11, 2025, 5 to 8 p.m., at the DoubleTree Hotel in Reading.

About the Champions of Care Dinner

Reading Hospital has the region’s only Level I Trauma Center, and this year’s Champions of Care Dinner will benefit our award-winning Intensive Care Services. The need for support has never been more urgent as our ICU operates at 100% capacity. Expanding both our space and life-saving resources to accommodate more local patients in ICU, Trauma Intensive Care Unit, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is critical.

In addition, we are excited to honor three Healthcare Champions who are doing tremendous work for Reading Hospital and the community:

P. Sue Perrotty

Visionary Health Leadership Award

Community advocate and retired banking professional
Tower Health Board Member and Reading Hospital Foundation Board Member

Chris G. Kraras

Legacy of Health Partnership Award

Chairman, White Star Tours
Reading Hospital Foundation Board Member
Former Tower Health Board Member and Reading Hospital Board Member

Vinti Shah, DO

Spirit of Reading Hospital Award

Division Chief, Reading Hospital Palliative Medicine
Reading Hospital Foundation Board Member
Treasurer, Reading Hospital Medical Staff

Our hospital team looks forward to hosting this special event, and I would be honored to have your support for the Champions of Care Dinner as we all continue to Support the Future of Healthcare.
