Overview

Giving back to your community while gaining insight into a career in medicine is one of the greatest benefits of volunteering in a hospital setting. For the duration of the program, junior volunteers will commit to serving one four-hour shift each week. Specialized opportunities will be offered throughout the summer to enhance students’ knowledge and experience:

  • Touring the Emergency Department and Operating Room areas
  • Training geared to enhance students’ capabilities in the medical professions
  • Shadowing opportunities

After a successful interview, onboarding, and training process, teens will be assigned to a position in the hospital. Additional training may be required for specialized programs. There are no positions in pediatrics or labor and delivery. Teens interested in the Emergency Department must be 16 years of age.
