We are happy to welcome you to the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children's Pediatric Residency Program website! Thank you for your interest in our program.

We are a residency program with a long history of training excellent pediatricians. We provide a very rich and supportive learning environment that is complimented by faculty members who have a passion for educating and mentoring residents. In fact, many of our faculty have trained at St. Christopher's and have chosen to stay in (or return to) the institution to continue the tradition of excellent teaching. We serve a very diverse patient population, and the hospital and residency program are proudly dedicated to advocating for our patients and our community.

The mission of our residency program is to train excellent pediatricians who will serve as leaders in their profession, no matter where their career path takes them. We expect that our graduates will commit themselves to education – their own and that of their patients, colleagues, and community, and to advocating for patients and families, locally and beyond.

Throughout training, we work with each individual resident to identify their personal and professional goals and provide them with unique clinical and research experiences in order to optimally prepare them for their future career in general pediatrics, academic pediatrics, or subspecialty care.

Through clinical experiences, we emphasize the development of strong clinical decision making skills and autonomy. We have designed our curriculum to provide you with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to be an outstanding pediatrician and leader. This is accomplished through an extensive formal teaching program, including regular attending rounds, daily noon conferences, chief rounds, grand rounds, and numerous subspecialty conferences. Curricular highlights include many longitudinal elements that were developed here before becoming modeled by other institutions, including Teaching to Teach, Child Advocacy, Evidence-Based Medicine, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, and Doctoring Skills.

Please explore our website and discover why St. Christopher's Hospital for Children's Residency Program may be the perfect place to continue your professional training.

We look forward to the possibility of meeting and working with you in the future!
